Born in a family of actors, Vijay Singh Deol better known as Bobby Deol is noted Indian film actor Dharmendra's son and Sunny Deol's younger brother. Bobby Deol was seen on the silver screen for the first time in the 1977 film Dharam Veer where he portrayed his father's character's younger version. However, his actual Hindi film debut came only years later in Rajkumar Santoshi's Barsaat for which he won the Filmfare Best Debut Award. He was paired with Rajesh Khanna's daughter Twinkle Khanna who was also making her debut. After this came the super successful Gupt and the not so successful Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya starring Aishwarya Bachchan. However, after 2002, Bobby Deol's success graphs took a down as his movies failed to catch the attention of the masses. The 2007 film Apne brought together the Deol familoy together on the silver screen. The movie turned out to be a huge hit in the local as well as overseas market. Then came Heroes and Dostana - both of which were much appreciated. In the 2007 IIFA Awards ceremony, Bobby Deol broke into tears on stage after presenting his father with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award'. Bobby Deol is married to Tanya Ahuja and has two sons Aryaman and Dharam. In 2009 he will be seen in the films Roshan and Ek.
