Mukul Deora

Mukul Deora is a multi-disciplinary artist living in Mumbai. From pioneering electronic dance music (bhavishyavani) in India in the mid 90s to co-founding new-media collectives, Mukul moved to experimental sound performances and released his debut album 'Stray' in 2006, which reached number 12 in the Indian charts.
He has performed at the Tate Modern, London, the Serpentine Gallery, London, and the National Centre for Performing Arts and the World Social Forum, Mumbai. He recently launched the UK Cultural Olympics with an audio-visual collaboration and performed at the Serpentine Gallery, London, as part of the Indian Highway show.
Early this year, Mukul launched his record label, Dudup, at the Serpentine Gallery, with a compilation of abstract electronica.
He also performed at TED India, where he collaborated with Kalaripayttu dancers to create a piece called The Wandering Arrow- a juxtaposition of an ancient Indian martial form with modern abstract electronic music.
