From tickling our funny bones to making us guffaw hysterically with their quirky sense of humor, he has always made our faces grin just by his appearance. Karamjit Anmol is a household name in Punjab, not only for his comedy but also for his music. As music and comedy is part and parcel of his life.
He started singing at the age of six and later took professional training in music during his college days when he was doing his graduation at SUS Government College, Sunam. He is gold medalist in folk music at Punjabi University. He launched his first album called Aashiq Bhaaji in 2005. After his first solo album got released, he came up with various Punjabi albums that received lot of love and appreciation from the audience.
Some of his albums that were quite famous in Punjab were Ro Ro Naina Ne, NA Hanju Mere Mukde Ne, Chitthiye, Choode Wali Baah, Shaunk, Lucky 4 Me, Desi Rockers etc.
The singer is known for promoting folk music in Punjab. His songs have always tried to keep the Punjabi culture alive. Seven years back he sung the title track of a Punjabi film called Mein Tu Assi Tusi.
If we look at the career graph of Karamjit Anmol, his music and comedy were always interdependent on each other. Comedy does not have a particular definition. It is not bound by any specific script and requires huge improvisation while performing on the stage. Thankfully he didn't let anything dominate his creativity. His ability to find comedy in every situation from his school days and a knack to get into whatever character he is playing have paid a huge role in separating him from the cream. It’s this quality of him that has even sung the title tracks of his comedy shows such as Jugnu Kehnda Hai, Jugnu Mast Mast on on Zee Punjabi and Jugnu Hazir Hai on MH1. Also his performances on shows such as Hasde Hasande Raho on MH1, Funjabi Chakde on Star One were quite musical. His comedy plays like Just Laugh Baki Maaf which was performed in Canada and Naughty Baba In Town that was performed in Canada, America, New Zealand and Australia always had an element of music.
As an actor he has played many character roles in movies such as Chak Jawana, Mitti, Jihne Mera Dil Lutiya, Jatt & Juliet, West is West, Carry on Jatta, Sirphire, Tu Mera 22 Mein Tera 22 etc.
