Pulapaka Susheela or P. Susheela is considered to be one of the greatest singers of Indian cinema with a career spanning over four decades. She sings in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada. P. Susheela got her break when she was chosen from a group of playback singers by music director, Rao at an All India Radio station. Hence, came her debut song Edhukku Azhaithaai which was a duet with A.M. Raja.
Although she joined the industry at a very competitive time, her voice was heard on the soundtrack of almost every South Indian film. Some of her most memorable songs were rendered under the musical guidance of legends like K.V. Mahadevan and M.S. Vishwanathan. Her discography includes more than four hundred titles. She has been awarded the National Film Award five times, and has also been honored with Padma Bhushan Award.
