Preity Zinta is an Indian film actress who along with doing Hindi films has also worked in Telugu, Punjabi and English language films. A St. Bedes College, Shimla alumni and graduate in criminal psychology, she took up modeling at the age of 18. Her famous commercials were for Perk and Liril. During these stints, a director persuaded her to join the film industry. Preity started her career in Bollywood with the film Dil Se (1998). In the same year she appeared in Soldier and won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for these performances. In 2000, she portrayed a young single mother in Kya Kehna. Having played a variety of roles she is known to have changed the meaning of a Hindi film actress. Preity Zinta's career really took off post 2003 when she was seen in the hit movie, Kal Ho Naa Ho. She received a Filmfare Best Actress Award. After this she appeared in two consecutive blockbuster films Koi...Mil Gaya and Veer-Zara. Her first international film was Heaven on Earth for which she went on to receive the Best Actress Award in Chicago's international film festival. She has also appeared thrice in the TV talk show Koffee with Karan with Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Bobby Deol respectively. Apart form her acting career; she also owns Indian Premier League team, Punjab Kings XI in partnership with her boyfriend, Ness Wadia. Apart from her dimples, she is famous for her outspoken nature and courageous actions for which she has also received a Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award. In 2009, she will be seen in the films Main Aur Mrs. Khanna and Har Pall.
