Rakesh Roshan Lal Nagrath is an Indian film producer, director and former actor. He was born in a family where many people were already working in Bollywood hence the career came naturally to him. Rakesh Roshan started his Bollywood career as an actor in the 1970s and so far has acted in more than seventy films. Soon, he ventured into film production after setting up his firm, Filmkraft in 1980, he produced Aap Ke Deewane the same year. His directorial debut came later in 1987 with the film Khudgarz and subsequently came out with more blockbuster movies like Kishen Kanhaiya and Karan Arjun. Rakesh Roshan launched his son Hrithik Roshan's acting career with the super duper hit Kaho Na...Pyaar Hai (2000). The film went on to be included in the Limca Book of Records for the most number of awards won by a movie and the highest grosser of the year. His other super successful films are Koi...Mil Gaya and Krrish, both of which have Hrithik Roshan doing the lead role. He has received many awards including the Filmfare, Apsara and International Film Festival Awards. One thing to notice is that all his production and directorial ventures have been named with the letter K.
Kites is a 2010 Bollywood film directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Rakesh Roshan, that stars Hrithik Roshan, Bárbara Mori, Kangna Ranaut, and Kabir Bedi.
