Randeep was born in Rohtak, Haryana to a politician mother and a surgeon father. He did schooling from Delhi Public School and later moved to Australia for further studies in Human Resource Management. During this time, he worked as a waiter in small restaurants, drove taxis and even washed cars to earn a living. After coming back to India, Randeep decided to become an actor and landed in Naseeruddin Shah's theatre group to do some major plays with the veteran. He even made a quick debut in Monsoon wedding where he played a role of an NRI. But even after delivering a successful performance, Randeep had to wait for four long years until getting discovered by Ram Gopal Varma. He shot to limelight with the Ramu's gangster movie 'D' which did not do well at box office but gave Randeep the name and fame. The next was a lead role in Vishram Sawant's 'Risk' and a significant role in 'Karma, Confessions and Holi'.
