Vidya Balan is an Indian film actress. She started her career as an actor with music videos, TV soaps and commercials. She began her film career in 2003 with a Bengali film, Bhalo Theko. After a couple of years, she got her first Bollywood break in form of Parineeta, for which she received a Filmfare Best Debut Award. Thought the film was well appreciated but her first commercial hit came with Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006). She also starred in the Mani Ratnam film, Guru. Her other famous films include Salaam-e-Ishq, Eklavya, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Kismat Konnection. She is multi-lingual and can speak Malyalam, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and English with equal ease. She is the daughter of ETC channel's vice president. Till date, she has won 15 Awards. In 2009, she will be seen in Ishqiya.
